Using Discord to Promote Your Podcast

Podcasts can be promoted in many ways, however one of my favorite ways is using the community side Discord.  Discord began focusing on the gaming community, but has not spread to many other types of Internet associations. One of it’s best features is that is free.  If you would like to try it out visit discord.com.  If you have multiple podcasts, make a server for each one.  Also you can try doing this for your budding podcast network.  I mange multiple Discords. Markramsey.com, Dolphin Squad, Mark Ramsey Consulting, Old Time Streamers, Cheap Skate and Your Stream Bot round out the list.

Your first step is to figure out who you podcast targets.  Create channels that will appeal to them.  You want to make them feel like they are part of the show.  Try a suggestions channel or a images channel to let the community design an image for each episode.  Maybe a news channel could be helpful, to gather information you may have missed about the subjects you podcast about.  If you have a Twitter or Instagram, you can integrate them to a Discord channel as well.  Anything you can do to keep the conversation moving will be beneficial.
